2 Hurricanes & Sad good byes...

 So update on the snake story real quick, we caught another Water Moccasin that was much bigger than the one we caught last week... so we decided to kill it and eat it lol. The thing was a scary beast but it tasted pretty good with lots of seasoning.

Transfers were this week, I'm staying here but I get a new companion and he is going to help me with housing, so I'm not a lone ranger anymore and I'm so glad. It's my boy Elder Fualalo! Big Toko and I will be conquering this assignment for sure the next 6 weeks. Me and him were homies before we became comps and now we just are the bestest of friends. 

We got to do the same old "Pick up new missionaries" gig which was fun and it so sick talking to these new missionaries about online MTC and PUMPING them UP for the mission.

Highlight of the week: President Amos didnt want to drop off all of the Go-Home missionaries at 4 am then again at 6 am then again at 8 am... so he asked Me and Elder Niepraschk to do it and we were STOKED. So after transfers happened we headed over to the mission home and ate with them and had a testimony meeting with the 12 missionaries going home, and it was SAD. Then the sisters went upstairs to sleep and the Elders stayed downstairs and talked... until it was really late so then we just decided to sleep on the floor at like 2am. Then at 4am I woke up and we were out the door with the first 1/3rd of the returning home missionaries. But then the second wave of missionaries we took, I drove the big van and I was taking Elder Olsen, Sister Reich, and Sister O'Brien home... and they have all been with me in the office since covid started, so we are all so close and they all went home this transfer. They have effected me a lot, and definitely helped me be the best possible missionary I can be, while we also had INSANE amounts of fun. So I was super sad saying goodbye to them. May or may not have shed a tear or two. 

Also yeah 2 hurricanes are hitting us this week. So president called me saturday and told me to move all the missionaries from the coast areas and all of new orleans, so we took a little over 50 missionaries and put them in apartments more north, so right now we have 8 Elders living in our apartment and its SOOOO SWEET. Of course I hooked myself up with some sick elders. So we having a good time while we prepare to die in at least one of the hurricanes that are going to hit us.

Quick story not the best weekly sorry I still love you mom

Hey ladies and gentlemen. I had a fun week and just want to update you a little. Super fun week we finished up zone conferences for the last 4 zones, then had my own zone conference. It was so fun. The other day Elder Obray wanted to go hunt for some frogs because he was tired of all of the meetings he had been in all day, so we went hunt for frogs and came back with 2 turtles and a snake. It was insane. Crazier thing is when I saw the snake I knew I had to catch it because my boy Elder Fualalo is from Tonga and has never seen a snake before, so I had nothing else on my mind at that moment except catching that snake. So when we caught it we ran it back to Elder fualalo and showed him but then we realized his head was VERY triangular. So we did some research and found out that we had just caught a Cottonmouth.... or better known down here as a Water Moccasin.... those things are scary and we had just caught one lol. So we had it in a bucket outside and went back to that bucket and it was gone so its roaming around us which is spooky. Anyways that was something that was pretty fun. I'm thriving out here and I am working hard and loving life. I'm in a rush I've had like 0 time today so I wuv u guys stay cute remember who you are and have a blessed week Love Elder Wilson. Updates baby!

Hola, this is an email to let yall know I'm still alive more than anything. Ill start with 2 weeks ago. President Amos asked me if I would help out a missionary by helping him do an "assignment" so we started doing little housing inspections and it was so sick. This Elder and I got to drive around Baton Rouge and Denham springs zone and surprise missionaries and do housing inspections and it was just a blast seeing all the missionaries and surprising them. Now that Elder is the "Apartment inspector" and he is on zoom calls all morning inspecting apartments and he loves doing it and I'm just super proud of the kid honestly. So 2 weeks ago was just a lot of driving around and doing those inspections along with buying all the missionaries their "Media" (like all the Book of Mormons and Bibles and even supplies for their apartment they may need). This past week has been as sick as they always are. We had Zone Conferences all week so I have been able to see all my homies. President Amos just rocks our worlds. He is so blunt and so straightforward it's awesome. When a stupid question is asked he makes it known then helps everyone understand simply his reasoning so we are all on the same page. Everyone is basically just at a higher level of thinking when President Amos is around. He is just so smart and wise. My thoughts: Brought to my attention by an experience at walmart, that is similar to all of our experiences every day. - Elder Niepraschk (my comp) had to buy stuff for the Cars for zone conference and I had to buy housing supplies. So we went to walmart and we were buying LOADS of stuff so this walmart employee came to help us out, he was like 17 and his name was Marlo. I knew he was cool cuz he had some sick Jordan 1s and a fresh fade. And when I see some shoes that are worth complimenting, I compliment. So we were talking and he said he has seen us everywhere. So he asked what we do... I love situations like this, where we establish common ground and show them that yeah we are dressed up and they know us as "mormons", but we arent robots, just 2 kids with an important message. So when they ask, it turns the whole conversation into a more genuine conversation instead of us throwing it at them. That way we get the opportunity to bear our testimonies to someone who has their heart open. At least somewhat ready to recieve it and if worst comes to worst you just planted another seed. I must say I love my Job right now as not only a missionary, but a friggin office missionary. Those guys get a bad rep... but it really isn't that bad. Its sooo much better to talk and share the gospel with people in these environments where we have a purpose other than only sharing the Gospel, (but obviously that is the best purpose.) like working with everyday people on apartments and buying cars and fixing cars and working with maintenance people in apartments. We walk into car shops and we are homies with these guys because we see them every day, bringing in new cars and we just talk and talk and share a few things we know to be true and leave. My job is a LOT of planting seeds I will have to admit. But for a few people its planting and watering and weeding around their seeds, and I just love that. It's not as much teaching as I would like to do. But I know that I am carrying a message in my heart. They know our message not because we shove it in their face, but because we emulate it. I share this because this is something yall can relate to. All my non-missionary friends. Although it IS all of our jobs to be sharing the Gospel as much as we can with whoever we can. Those opportunities dont come unless people see WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT. I love the C.S. Lewis quote, "I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else." We are a guiding light. There is no happiness without the knowledge of God being our loving Heavenly Father, and that because He wants us to be with Him again, He has sent His Son. And we have to guide others to this knowledge. There are people out there that are trying to find happiness in anything other than God. And that is NOT POSSIBLE. God loves us enough to want all of His children to have happiness, even the ones who "don't have time for Him" or the ones who no longer believe in him at all. But He just can't do that. There is no other way. So it's up to you and it is up to me, to help everyone else know that we are not messing around. I love yall. Stay sweet this week.
